Check out my conversation with the fabulous Federica Boffa, fifth-generation vintner of the iconic Pio Cesare winery in Piedmont, Italy. We met up at The Cornell Club - New York last week while Federica was in town for Wine Spectator’s New York Wine Experience. During our tasting, we discussed the Pio Cesare style and how the Nebbiolo grapes express themselves distinctly in Barolo and Barbaresco. Federica also shared what it’s like to be a young woman leading an important winery, some of her favorite food pairings, and why young and new drinkers should not be intimidated by these classic wines.
